Crash reinforces police concern over drag racing
Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000 | 10:57 a.m.
Investigators said the vehicle went out of control and crashed into a brick ledge in front of an apartment building at Ryland and High streets.
Police Lt. Ken Bunker said the victims were in a car that was accelerating at a high speed side by side with another car.
Bunker said the car flipped over, ejecting both occupants. Bystanders said one man was bleeding heavily.
The other man received a head injury but ran away and was found two blocks away on Mill Street. Both were taken to Washoe Medical Center.
