Small plane makes emergency landing
Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 | 9:40 a.m.
A boulevard in the city's northwest became a runway for a Cessna 182 after airplane suddenly lost oil pressure Sunday night.
The four-seat plane was several miles from its North Las Vegas Airport destination when the pilot noticed the pressure loss, said Tim Szymanski, spokesman for the Las Vegas Fire Department.
Rather than risk possible engine damage or worse, the pilot decided to cut the flight short and landed on a rural patch of road.
No injuries were reported.
