Gibbons wants dropout study

Gibbons also asked the U.S. General Accounting Office to include in its study recommendations for federal legislation to combat the dropout problem.
"Most recent data shows that Nevada's dropout rate continues to hover around 10 percent" Gibbons said. "Nationally, the statistics on high school dropout rates are just as alarming.
"We need to determine the causes of this trend, and then implement effective programs to reverse it."
The General Accounting Office is the nonpartisan, independent investigative arm of Congress.
