Faye Forbes of Fairfield, Calif., played only $20 before she hit the Wheel of Fortune Dollars Megajackpot Saturday night at the Carson Nugget.
"I don't even like the game," she said. "But then the bell began to ring and I looked at the machine and said, 'Oh my God, Oh my God, I have done it, I've hit the big one."'
Forbes, who's retired after 32 years in management with JCPenney Co., was unsure how she would spend the money.
She was in town with her sister to attend a high school class reunion that Gov. Kenny Guinn threw at the Governor's Mansion.
But at the last minute she couldn't get a ticket to the event and went to play the slots instead.
The reunion was for 1950s graduates of Exeter High School in Exeter, Calif. Guinn was a member of the Class of '55 there.
