Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) driver Bryan Herta, who co-owns the Las Vegas Karting Center near Jean, has unveiled a program to identify and showcase the top young karting drivers.
The "Championship Auto Racing Teams Stars of Tomorrow" racing challenge will be held Nov. 3-5 at the Las Vegas Karting Center. Five drivers from the Pro 125 Gearbox, Pro 80 Gearbox and Pro Superbox classes -- the three race winners and two at-large picks -- will participate in a three-day Skip Barber Racing School course, culminating in a test in a Team Rahal Champ Car.
"The open-wheel community has really come forward to support this event," Herta, a two-time winner in the CART series, said. "We want to change the motor sports climb to fame while helping our sport grow."
The winners of the "Stars of Tomorrow" racing challenge will share a prize fund of $10,000.
