May awarded key to city

PGA Tour player Bob May's valiant attempt at Tiger taming was rewarded Wednesday with a key to the city of Las Vegas.
The Summerlin resident fell just short of beating Tiger Woods in the 82nd PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club near Louisville, Ky., last month but earned respect throughout Las Vegas for the exciting run he gave the sport's best player.
City Councilman Michael Mack awarded May the key to the city for exhibiting "sportsmanship with a gentlemanly nature."
May made five birdies and jaw-dropping par saves to force a playoff with Woods. Although Woods won the championship, May finished just one stroke behind with an awed nation cheering the underdog's efforts.
