A senior airman at Nellis Air Force Base pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder in connection with the December death of her newborn daughter.
Candice Kitto, 23, entered a type of guilty plea that required her to admit only that prosecutors could prove their case against her.
District Judge Mark Gibbons is scheduled to sentence the woman Oct. 16.
The infant's body was found in December in a plastic bag in a closet at the home where Kitto lived with her husband.
North Las Vegas police said an autopsy showed the baby was born alive and then suffocated. Police said Kitto's husband did not know she was pregnant.
