Evan Zucker, a 13-year-old hockey player from Las Vegas, has been selected to the Spokane (Wash.) Warhorse triple-A travel team in the Western Hockey League's developmental program.
Zucker, the youngest player on the team, is playing on the top forward line and has a goal and two assists in the Warhorse's first two exhibition games. He had the winning assist in the first game and a goal in the second.
Zucker, a seventh-grader at Johnson Junior High, has moved to Spokane and is living with a host family. However, the Las Vegas Outlaw hockey program is seeking sponsors to help with his expenses. Information on donations is available from the Outlaws at 656-4747 and coach Derby Schafer at 362-7352.
