The third suspect in a restaurant robbery that resulted in the shooting of a Metro Police officer has been indicted on 10 counts.
According to an indictment unsealed Friday, Tamika Beavers, 20, was indicted on a host of charges ranging from burglary and robbery to kidnapping and attempted murder.
According to police, Markus Weatherspoon and Darnell Harris robbed the Macayo Vegas Restaurant, 4457 W. Charleston Blvd., on June 14. The indictment alleges Beavers was the getaway driver.
Police believe that after leaving the restaurant, Harris shot at Officer Pete Rossi's vehicle twice, striking his front bumper and windshield. One of the bullets hit Rossi, 26, in the face, causing him to lose an eye.
Harris is scheduled to go on trial Sept. 25 and Weatherspoon March 5.
