Building department cuts back for elections
The Clark County Building Department will provide reduced inspection and plan checking services today and on Nov. 7 because of the primary and general elections.
Many building department employees will be working as elections staff on those days.
Reid appointment
Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., has appointed Carl Eduardo Meacham as his legislative assistant for Hispanic affairs.
Meacham holds a master's degree in public administration from Columbia University and a master's in international development from American University. Meacham was raised in Chile and has previously served as a special assistant to the deputy secretary of commerce.
"I'm pleased that Carl has joined Team Reid," Reid said. "He brings strong academic and policy experience to the job and will be a crucial part of my efforts to represent Latinos in Nevada and throughout the nation."
