Becker leads in Nevada Supreme Court race

RENO, Nev. - State Supreme Court Justice Nancy Becker easily topped two rural challengers Tuesday in the only contested race for the high court.
Becker a former Clark County judge, had 59 percent of the vote to 17 percent for Ely attorney Jim Backus with 75 percent of the precincts tallied. They will face each other in a November runoff. Carson City lawyer Day Williams, who entered the race by mistake, trailed "none of the above" by 2 percent with 11 percent of the vote.
The vote count: Becker, 94,463; Backus, 27,860; "none of the above," 20,244; Williams, 16,904.
