Becker leads in early voting for Nevada Supreme Court

RENO, Nev. - State Supreme Court Justice Nancy Becker led two rural challengers Tuesday in the only contested race for the high court.
Becker a former Clark County judge, was opposed by Ely attorney Jim Backus, who said voters deserved a choice, and Carson City lawyer Day Williams, who entered the race by mistake.
With 16 percent of precincts reporting, Becker had 62 percent of the vote. Backus had 17 percent, Williams 10 percent and "none of the above" had 11 percent.
The vote count: Becker, 48,252; Backus, 13,451; "none of the above," 8,789; Williams, 7,597.
