Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., who helped secure funding for the school, was among local and state leaders who attended the ceremony in the community 40 miles northeast of Reno.
Classes will begin Tuesday at the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Junior and Senior High School.
The 43,000-square-foot building features two pyramids on the roof and is decorated throughout with Paiute designs.
It houses 15 classrooms with Internet connections, a computer room, a gym and library.
Built to accommodate 250 students, the school has a fall enrollment of 150.
"This day will be remembered as a special day," Paiute Tribal Chairman Norman Harry told visitors.
