A Las Vegas memorial service will be held Thursday for Park Place Entertainment Corp. Chief Executive Arthur Goldberg, who died Oct. 19.

The service, which is open to the public, will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane in Summerlin. The service will be officiated by Rabbi Felipe Goodman. The temple is off Town Center Drive, between Sahara Avenue and Desert Inn Road.

Scheduled to deliver eulogies at the service are Dr. Elias Ghanem, chairman of the Nevada State Athletic Commission; Clive Cummis, executive vice president and general counsel of Park Place; and J. Kenneth Looloian, a member of Park Place's board of directors.

Goldberg died at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore from complications due to bone marrow failure. He was 58. He is survived by his wife and four children.

In lieu of flowers, which are discouraged at services in accordance with the Jewish faith, gifts in Goldberg's memory can be made to the Arthur M. Goldberg Memorial Fund at Johns Hopkins Medicine, 1620 McElderry Street, Baltimore, Md., 21205.
