Rebels win doubles title

UNLV's Nenad Zivkovic and Greg Skorin defeated Utah's Nik Yip and Kevin Zenger 8-6 to win the doubles title at the 2000 ITA Regional Tennis Championships held on the Rebels' courts. Zivkovic defeated New Mexico's Takeshi Itoh (6-3, 6-7, 7-6) to move on to the finals in singles, but lost the title to San Diego State's Valentino Pest 6-1, retired.
* The UNLV volleyball team defeated Air Force 3-0 (15-8, 15-13, 16-14) to improve to 4-7 in the Mountain West, 14-6 overall. Air Force fell to 0-10, 6-16. Four Rebels finished with 15 kills -- Patricia Assuncao, Leiana Oswald, Blair Wilkes and Amber Graham.
* San Diego State got a goal from sophomore Alan Fiedler midway through the first half to defeat the UNLV men's soccer team 1-0 Sunday in California. The Rebels, who had won nine of their previous 11, fell to 9-7-1.
