Edgewood Creek examined for pollutants
Monday, Oct. 30, 2000 | 10:49 a.m.
Allen Biaggi, head of the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, said they are puzzled by the strange red substance in Edgewood creek.
The creek was tested years ago when a similar complaint was made but Biaggi said the agency never was able to come up with any answers. He said they want to get to the bottom of the problem this time around.
The creek runs through the Kingsbury Grade property of longtime residents Joni and Blaine Wines.
The pollution is apparently causing the death of a number of century-old trees along the creek bank.
Joni Wines said she fears an old dump site about 500 feet from her home could be the cause. She said it closed more than 30 years ago.
