CARSON CITY -- A bill that would give Nevada a better chance of receiving its full amount of money under the national tobacco settlement has been passed by the House of Representatives.
Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa said Thursday this legislation bans cigarettes manufactured in foreign countries that are not intended by the manufacturer to be sold in the United States. The bill, she said, is intended to prohibit "so-called gray-market cigarette sales, which if allowed to continue could significantly cut into the amount of money paid to the states."
