Letter: A chip off the old block

I love to read Ron Kantowski's columns whenever I get a chance. I am a huge UNLV football fan and love the Rebels to death. But what is up with Ron bashing UNLV kicker Ray Cheetany ("Pieffer looking extra good," Oct. 23)?
I watched all the UNLV games this year and Ray kicked one low extra point, against Air Force. That is it. Of course Coach Robinson is going to say he is kicking low. That is because they have no one else to long snap.
The two field goals and four extra points were blocked because the long snapper, Ryan Hansen, is only 215 pounds and gets murdered every time he snaps.
Dillon Pieffer is a good kicker, but let's see him kick a field goal.
