Green Valley earns postseason berth

Green Valley earned the Southeast Division's final playoff spot and knocked host Chaparral out of the postseason with a 38-19 victory Thursday night.
The Gators (4-5, 1-3 Southeast) picked off Cowboy quarterback Dallas Dobbs four times in the first quarter, with Ryan Smith and Jamar Jordan each coming up with two interceptions to set the tone.
Anthony Gudagnia rushed 11 times for 159 yards and a touchdown and also ran back a fumble recovery for a 68-yard touchdown to spearhead the victory for Green Valley.
"It was nice to see the kids revert back to the form we had early in the season," said Gators coach John Culver.
Green Valley quarterback Robin Spradling completed 10 of 20 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns in his first start behind center, and Chris McGovern caught six balls for 117 yards and a touchdown.
