Las Vegas-based Casino Data Systems reported net income of $3.1 million, or 16 cents per diluted share, for the quarter ending Sept. 30.
The quarter marked a substantial increase in earnings for Casino Data, as net income rose 72 percent and increased 60 percent on a per-share basis.
Revenues rose more modestly, increasing 3 percent to $20.6 million. The company also posted operating income of $4.3 million, up 70 percent from the year-ago period.
Casino Data attributed the jump in earnings to a change in the company's sales mix, as well as "design and manufacturing efficiencies" in the company's game division.
Casino Data is a designer and manufacturer of a variety of casino products, including computer-based casino management systems, progressive systems, slot machines and casino signage.
