Ferne S. Elias
Ferne S. Elias, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1911, in Brighton, Ark. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired clothing saleswoman.
She is survived by one son, George D. Elias of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Lora Gillespie
Lora Gillespie, 38, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 7, 1962, in Salt Lake City. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
She is survived by her husband, David; one son, Jacob Gillespie of Las Vegas; two brothers, Joseph Barthelemy III of Dallas and Ross Barthelemy of Fayetteville, Ark.; and one sister, Jean Barthelemy of Hot Springs, Ark.
Mass will be celebrated 4 p.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Graveside services will be in Arkansas. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson, NV 89014.
Charee Glumnak
Charee Glumnak, 47, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born June 30, 1953, in Thailand. A resident for two years, he was an airline ground crew operator.
He is survived by his wife, Pondthip; three sisters, Parga Glumnak, Uraipon Glumnak and Ooa Glumnak, and one brother, Piti Glumnak, all of Thailand.
Private services were arranged by Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Leland Ernest Hulten
Leland Ernest Hulten, 50, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 18, 1950, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, he was an aerospace technician.
He is survived by his mother, Elnona "Nony" Davis of Las Vegas; and one sister, Ellena Hulten of Panama City Beach, Fla.
Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Sidney Karp
Sidney Karp, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 18, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired hotel captain, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Culinary Union.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Norman B. Loevy
Norman B. Loevy, 70, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 16, 1930. A resident for more than 10 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a plumbing and heating company.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Elmhurst, Ill. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
James Raiano
James Raiano, 58, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for 35 years, he was born Nov. 19, 1941, in Utica, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Annette; two sons, Jimmy Raiano of Las Vegas and Johnny Raiano of Temecula, Calif.; one daughter, Debbie Tracy, and one brother, Bobby Raiano, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Carol Clark of Phoenix; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Carol Samia
Carol Samia, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local convalescent center. She was born Sept. 23, 1931, in New York City. A resident for 10 years, she was an office administrator.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Kelleher of Wilton, Conn., and Brian Kelleher of New Milford, Conn.; one brother, Richard Rand of East Northport, N.Y.; two sisters, Joan Ahola of Las Vegas and Elaine Patrick of Oklahoma City; and one grandchild.
A remembrance service will be noon Tuesday in the Meadows Room at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.
Marvin D. Schaffer
Marvin D. Schaffer, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; two sons, Matthew Schaffer and Robert Schaffer, both of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and one sister, Maryl Fox of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Services will be noon Tuesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be in Elmont, N.Y.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
Joan R. Wright
Joan R. Wright, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Ontario. A resident for 10 years, she was an airline reservations clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; one daughter, Reni DeVerteuil, and one sister, Monica Palka, both of Ontario; and two grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Nathan Youngman
Nathan Youngman, 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 17, 1914, in Poland. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired jewelry importer and owner of N&M Youngman Co.
He is survived by one daughter, Vicki Feldman of Van Nuys, Calif.; one son, Harvey Youngman of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; one sister, Rachel Ramon, and one brother, Jacob Youngman, both of Israel; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
