Las Vegas fire officials are investigating a fire between two downtown buildings that left a 69-year-old man badly burned.
The man, whom authorities believe may be homeless, is being treated at University Medical Center. He has approximately second- and third-degree burns over 80 to 90 percent of his body, according to fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski.
Firefighters say the man was unable to talk to explain what happened when they found him about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
A tenant of one of the buildings called 911 after noticing a small space between the two buildings was on fire.
Firefighters discovered that what appeared to be a trash fire in the alley was a man.
