Friday, Oct. 20, 2000 | 10:58 a.m.

The owner of a Las Vegas apartment complex and its tenants sued to stop the owner of the Wild Horse Golf Club from allowing golfers to hit golf balls into the residential property.

The defendants include National Golf Operating Partnership LP, the golf club's owner, and its manager, American Golf Corp.

In a Clark County District Court lawsuit, Legacy Pueblo Verde Ltd. Partnership doing business as Pueblo Verde Apartments, which said the two properties are separated by a "short and inadequate fence," alleged the defendants have for more than two years, failed to prevent balls from "crossing the border fence at a lethal velocity, ... causing damage to the property ... and constituting a life safety hazard to the tenants."

The defendants could not be reached for comment on the allegations.
