Wanda Marie Barlow

Wanda Marie Barlow, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 30, 1928 in Paintlick, Ky. A resident for 29 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John; three daughters, Linda Lee, Debbi Pellissler and Connie Patterson, all of Las Vegas; two sons, John Barlow of Dayton, Ohio, and Jim Barlow of Las Vegas; one brother, James Hester of Danville, Ky.; two sisters, Ruth Crouch of Danville and Margie Brown of New Lebanon, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Friday at the LDS chapel at Pennwood Avenue and Arville Street. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd, is handling arrangements.

Jeffery Lyn Benson

Jeffery Lyn Benson, 37, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 15, 1963, in Las Vegas. A resident for 26 years, he was a construction worker.

He is survived by his wife, Stacy; two sons, Nathan Allen Benson and Tyler Robert Benson, four daughters, Crystal Marie Benson, Amber Michelle Benson, Tatum Lee Benson and Paris Nicole Benson, and one stepson, Justin Kristopher Collins, and his father, Gordon W. Benson Sr., all of Las Vegas; his mother, Janice M. Stuart of California; his stepmother, Yvonne Benson, and four brothers, Terry Andrew Benson, Gordon W. Benson Jr., Troy Jerome Benson and Jason Mark Fisher, all of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Pamela Jean Burns of Pahrump and Brandy Michaelle Fisher of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Clinton Colbert Sr.

Clinton Colbert Sr., 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 22, 1912, in Texas. A resident for many years, he was a retired Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Clinton Colbert Jr., and one daughter, Gwendolyn Davidson, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Aretta Lewis and Lois Ruth Williams, both of Dallas, and Norma Jean Oates of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Alvin Colbert of Dallas and George Colbert of Detroit; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.

Wilma Ruth Davis

Wilma Ruth Davis, 74, of Henderson died Monday in a local health care center. She was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Henderson. She was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Kentucky. A resident for four years, she was a retired assembler in the aviation industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Lewis of Henderson and Phyllis J. Shawn Davis of California; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Clair Roy Hicks

Clair Roy Hicks, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Rockhill, Pa. A resident for 14 years, he was a Delco battery builder and a coal miner.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl J.; two sons, Steve Hicks of Ohio and Michael Hicks of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Josephine Hruska of Ohio, Esther Smith of New Jersey and Regina Banich of North Carolina; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling private arrangements.

Donald Farrell McDermott

Donald Farrell McDermott, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 9, 1946, in California. A resident for 15 years, he was an electronics technician, a Vietnam War veteran, a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 357 and the American Legion and an instructor for the joint apprentice program for electrical workers.

He is survived by one son, David McDermott; his mother, Lillian Littell; and one sister, Janet; and two grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be 2-5 p.m. Friday at 620 Legion Way. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Vern Mark Moore

Vern Mark Moore, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 6, 1932, in Hawk Springs, Wyo. A resident for six years, he was a plasterer and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; one son, Mark Moore of Alta Loma, Calif.; two daughters, Debi Jensen of Covina, Calif., and Mary Kehoe of San Clemente, Calif.; one sister, Marietta Thomas of Davis, Calif.; three brothers, Paul Moore of York, S.C., David Moore of Rachel and Donald Moore of Covina; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in California. Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd., is handling arrangements.

James T. 'Buttaboom' Moynihan

James T. "Buttaboom" Moynihan, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 25, 1925, in New Jersey. A resident for 46 years, he was a hotel bellman and a World War II Navy veteran.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Grover Pickens

Grover Pickens, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Brea, Calif. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired security guard and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Velma; one daughter, Clara Tangelder of Kauai, Hawaii; one stepson, Larry Bates, and his foster daughter, Judy Mueller, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

William A. Poirier Sr.

William A. Poirier Sr., 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 28, 1937, in Boston. A resident for six years, he was an insurance salesman and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; four sons, William A. Poirier Jr., Paul D. Poirier, Mark S. Poirier and Joseph G. Poirier; four daughters, Karyn M. Corcoran, Kathryn M. Reis, Theresa M. Allen and Michelle D. Poirier; one brother, Ronald Poirier; four sisters, Mary Pearl Levanchy, Christina Sprague, Joanne Delletti and Mary Carey; and 11 grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 3 p.m. Friday in St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 4519 Simmons St., North Las Vegas. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Sandy Rajkovich

Sandy Rajkovich, 55, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 13, 1944, in Portland, Ore. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired dealer.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; three daughters, Christina Agney of Belleville, Ill., Deborah Grisez of Sylvania, Ohio, and Tammy Grisez of Chicago; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 59 Lynn Lane, Henderson. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Rayshon A. Tellis

Rayshon A. Tellis, 14, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 27, 1986, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a student.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis A. Jefferson, his father and stepmother, Darrell D. and Juawana Tellis, two brothers, Joseph Jefferson and Monte Williams, three sisters, Brittany Sanders, Darace Tellis and Darlesha Tellis, and his grandparents, Catherine Jones, and Edward and Gloria Tellis, all of North Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be noon Saturday in Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Jim Warren

Jim Warren, 65, of Indian Springs died Tuesday in Indian Springs. He was born March 9, 1935, in Elmer, Mo. A resident for seven years, he was a retired maintenance worker for a gaming manufacturer.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn H.; his mother, Ivil Warren of Missouri; and one sister, Irma Williams of California.

Howard C. Washington

Howard C. Washington, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 23, 1947, in New York City. A resident for 13 years, he was a fork lift driver.

He is survived his wife, Pearleene; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Washington of Lady Lake, Fla.; one sister, Valerie Henry of Mill Valley, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

King Sing Wong

King Sing Wong, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Honolulu. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired machinist for Todd Shipyard, an Army veteran, a member of Hawaiian All-Stars basketball team which played the Harlem Globetrotters, an avid sportsman and ballroom dance instructor.

He is survived by his wife, Sim; four daughters, Janis, Geraldine and Althea, all of Honolulu, and Jennifer of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Wong, and two sisters, Evelyn Fallau and Lily Choy, all of Honolulu.

Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 5 p.m. Friday in A Place for Miracles Church, 2160 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.

Nicholas Yakowenko

Nicholas Yakowenko, 72, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Fell Township, Pa. A resident for eight years, he was a retired owner-operator for a chemical company, an Army veteran, a member of the senior club and an avid egg artist.

He is survived by his wife, Myrna; two sons, Robert Frank Yakowenko of Cheektowaga, N.Y., and William John Yakowenko of Cary, N.C.; one daughter, Anna Mary Yakowenko of Las Vegas; and four brothers, Peter Yakowenko of Brooklyn, N.Y., Michael Young of Sun City Center, Fla., Joseph Young of Manheim, Pa., and George Yakowenko of Waipahu, Hawaii.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
