Sport: Football
Currently: A starting linebacker for the Sundevils, the 6-3, 230-pound Fields ranks sixth on his team with 26 total tackles, 17 of those unassisted and six for a loss. The one-time Warrior also boasts a sack and a fumble recovery on his resume for 4-2 ASU, which visits Washington St. this Saturday. Last year, Fields played in nine games and started three despite battling an ankle injury, recording 24 tackles, including eight in a loss to UCLA.
Looking back: A key member of Western's 1996 4A state title team, Fields earned team MVP honors during each of his final two high school seasons. As a senior, he was named to the All-Southern Nevada defensive squad, as well as to USA Today's all-state team. Fields still holds the Western High record with 18 tackles in a game.
