The youths - ages 13, 14 and 15, were runaways who were living in empty houses, police said.
According to detectives, the boys said they would work their way down a street, burglarizing unlocked vehicles and houses. They stashed their loot in nearby undeveloped areas.
The suspects' names were not released because of their ages. They are being held in juvenile detention.
Some of the stolen property has been recovered, authorities said.
