George Byron Barnett

George Byron Barnett, 36, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 17, 1963, in Illinois. A resident for many years, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Gipson of Tennessee.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Tennessee. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Abraham Jack Boroff

Abraham Jack Boroff, 77, of Las Vegas died Sept. 22 in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Boston. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired buyer for a department store and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Robert Boroff of Tuolumne, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Anne M. Cain

Anne M. Cain, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 2, 1914, in Allentown, Pa. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three brothers, Joe Kudla, Frank Kudla and Robert Kudla, all of Allentown.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Edward Ciak

Edward Ciak, 75, of Las Vegas died Sept. 23 in a local care center. He was born June 7, 1925, and was a dealer.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Floy K. Clemensen

Floy K. Clemensen, 102, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 14, 1898, in Clinton, Mo. A resident for five years, she was a retired federal government clerk, past matron of Oak Leaf Chapter 8 and a member for more than 80 years of Order of the Eastern Star in Oakland, Calif.

She is survived by one son, Robert Clemensen of Las Vegas; one daughter, Virginia Rhoton of Seattle; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Don 'Big Don' Crowley Sr.

Don "Big Don" Crowley Sr., 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Atlanta. A resident for four years, he was a retired Walgreens drug store manager, a Navy veteran and a member of the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sons, Don Crowley Jr. of Houston and John Crowley and David Lee Crowley, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today and 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Ann Barbara Faeser

Ann Barbara Faeser, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Pittston, Pa. A resident for more than seven years, she was a legal secretary.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; two sons, Frank R. Faeser of Biloxi, Miss., and Patrick Faeser of Las Vegas; one daughter, Susan Faeser of Valinda, Calif.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Jeremy Fernandez

Jeremy Fernandez, 1 day, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 2000, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Jorge and Deborah Fernandez, and three sisters, Karissa Fernandez, Carmen Fernandez and Amanda Fernandez, all of North Las Vegas; and his two grandmothers, Carmen Fernandez of North Las Vegas and Sharon Huntley of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Carl Grandstaff

Carl Grandstaff, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Hot Springs, Ark. A resident for 45 years, he was a baccarat pit boss, a former Clark County firefighter, a Korean War Air Force veteran and a golf pro at the Las Vegas Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Kristi; two sons, Randal Grandstaff of Las Vegas and Sam Grandstaff of Henderson; two daughters, Carla Jones of Houston and Darla LaSky of Las Vegas; one sister, Anna Mae Small of California; two brothers, Leo Grandstaff and Huey Grandstaff, both of Hot Springs, Ark.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be noon Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Frances A. Gronachan

Frances A. Gronachan, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Silver Creek, N.Y. A resident for one year, she was a retired teacher and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Education Sorority.

She is survived by three sons, J.P. Thom-Gronachan of Tucson, Tim Gronachan of Las Vegas and Frank Gronachan of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Ceidlen B. Beller of Rochester, N.Y., and Mary E. Sloand of Ithaca, N.Y.; one sister, Ellen Stahl of Derby, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Harold William Gundlach, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 6, 1934, in Westfield, N.Y. A resident for six years, he was a carpenter and automobile lot manager.

He is survived by one sister, Betty Thompson of Frederica, Del.

William Hirst, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 13, 1915, in Altoona, Pa. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired custodian.

He is survived by one sister, Mary Louise Elias of San Jacinto, Calif.

Jimmie Ray Johnson

Jimmie Ray Johnson, 62, of Las Vegas died Oct. 1 in a local hospital. He was born July 24, 1938, in Missouri. A resident for 12 years, he was a carpenter and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Noreen; two sons, Robert Johnson and Ronald Johnson; one daughter, Sandra Johnson; his father, James Ewing Johnson; one brother, Bobbie Johnson; and eight grandchildren.

Mary E. LeVier

Mary E. LeVier, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Harrisburg, Pa. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired entrepreneur and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two daughters, Dolly Harty of Claremont, Calif., and Jackie Walls of Sunnyvale, Calif.; one sister, June Chronister; her special friend, Ralph Rackhem of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Donald Farrell McDermott

Donald Farrell McDermott, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 9, 1946, in California. A resident for 15 years, he was an electronics technician, a Vietnam War veteran, a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 357 and the American Legion and an instructor for the joint apprentice program for electrical workers.

He is survived by one son, David McDermott; his mother, Lillian Littell; and one sister, Janet; and two grandchildren.

William Michael Meedel

William Michael Meedel, 60, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 28, 1940, in Cheyenne, Wyo. A resident for 22 years, he was a customer service representative in the field of home development.

He is survived by two daughters, Vickie Smith and Amy Meedel, one son, John Meedel, and his companion, Helen Meedel, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Montana aka Betty Lou Nahser

Montana aka Betty Lou Nahser, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 23, 1950, in California. A resident for 43 years, she was a copy editor for a publishing company.

She is survived by two brothers, Norman and Melvin.

Mona Lee Montoya, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 6, 1939, in Arnolds Park, Iowa. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired casino surveillance agent.

She is survived by one daughter, Angela Howard, her mother, Georgia Mitchel, and one sister, Donna McDonald, all of Las Vegas; and one brother, David Mitchel.

Marcia E. Munson, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born March 6, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin G.; two sons, Joseph Strauss of Michigan and Curtis of California; two daughters, Tammy and Candi, both of California; three sisters, Sandra Connelly and Elaine Frazier, both of California, and Idell Gage of Georgia; and two grandchildren.

James W. Pearce, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 27, 1930, in Colorado Springs, Colo. A resident for seven years, he was a retired civil service master sergeant and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Melinda Stephens of Colorado Springs and Celinda Betancourt of Las Vegas; one brother, Jason Pearce of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Betty Grandstaff of Michigan and Shirley Collier of Denver; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Odis F. Roland Sr., 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Mississippi. A resident for two years, he was a retired salesman for an auto salvage company and a World War II Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Constance; two sons, Odis Roland Jr. of Laurel, Miss., and Steve Roland of Fort Worth, Texas; four daughters, Rebecca Roland of Fort Worth, Texas, Duchess Baker and Nancy Wallace, both of Las Vegas, and Janette Hill of Weatherford, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Milagros Salubo, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 27, 1930, in the Philippines. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio; three daughters, Liberty Pascual of Las Vegas and Connie Salubo and Antonilla Cruse, both of the Philippines; one son, Anthony Salubo, and four sisters, Melitona Burca, Veronica Laoyon, Mapetra Garganera and Marina Stairomana, all of the Philippines; and seven grandchildren.

Walter 'Jesse' Smith

Walter "Jesse" Smith, 41, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 29, 1958, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was an operations supervisor in the computer industry.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie; one daughter, Megan Smith, and one son, Walter "Michael" Smith, both of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Laura Snow of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Patricia Oden of Lancaster, Calif.

Opal Wamsley, 74, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born April 28, 1926, in Greeley, Colo. A resident for eight months, she was a retail saleswoman.

She is survived by one son, Willie Conradson of Lafayette, Colo.; two daughters, Barbara Conradson of Los Angeles and Patricia Morris of Henderson; one brother, Glenn Wamsley of California; one sister, Lela Galey of Plattenville, Colo.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
