Man says he was wounded by Flying Elvi at casino

Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000 | 11:13 a.m.

A Las Vegas man sued the Fiesta hotel-casino, alleging he was injured when a parachutist who was part of the Flying Elvi -- a parachute act staged a day after Thanksgiving in 1998 at the hotel-casino -- knocked him down.

The act involves 10 Elvis Presley lookalikes dressed up as Santas, parachuting from a helicopter, said George Maloof, Fiesta's president. In a Clark County District Court lawsuit, Kenneth Gray and his wife Jennifer alleged he was standing in a roped-off spectator area at the hotel-casino on Nov. 27, 1998 when he was knocked down. Gray said he incurred medical expenses of more than $55,937 for his injuries.

Maloof declined comment on the allegations.
