Body in desert ruled a homicide

A man whose body was found in a desert area Saturday had been shot to death, Metro Police said today.

An autopsy determined the man could not have shot himself, Lt. Wayne Petersen of Metro's homicide unit said. The body was discovered by a horseback rider near Gomer and Industrial roads.

It was badly decomposed, but the remains are believed to be of a white man wearing boots and black shorts.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Metro's homicide unit at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
