Four adults and five children are being provided temporary housing by the American Red Cross after a Monday night fire ripped through an eastern Las Vegas home.
Las Vegas firefighters responded to 2637 Theresa Ave., near Washington and Eastern avenues just before 10:45 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the house, fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said.
The fire, which investigators believe started from a candle in a bedroom, was out in about 10 minutes but led to an estimated $45,000 in damage.
