Nevada becoming hot stopover spot

Hadassah Lieberman, wife of Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Lieberman, is scheduled to visit Las Vegas on Tuesday for a fund-raiser at Harrah's hotel-casino on the Strip.
She also is scheduled to have an informal discussion with seniors in Henderson and to watch the final presidential debate with members of the AFL-CIO.
Republican vice presidential candidate Dick Cheney will make his second stop in Nevada in so many weeks Monday, Oct. 23, to attend a rally in Reno.
Nevada GOP Executive Director Ryan Erwin said he had no word on whether Bush will visit before Nov. 7.
"We hope that he is coming and expect that he will," Erwin said. "Both campaigns think Nevada is important. If the Midwest splits like it appears it will, then the western states collectively could make a big difference."
Vice President Al Gore visited Las Vegas last month when he attended a rally, met with local journalists and accepted the endorsement of the Teamsters.
