LV contractor sued over worker benefits

A local masons union sued Grove Inc. to recover $28,730 in unpaid worker fringe benefits.
In a Clark County District Court suit, the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No. 3 alleged Grove is liable because it had hired Catello Tile and Marble Inc. as a subcontractor and Catello allegedly failed to pay the fringe benefits.
"We've been in contact with the union's attorney, and have responded to their audit schedule," responded Dan Hunt, Grove's controller. "There's been no decision made on the total dollar amount to be paid."
