Letter: Many differences between GOP and Democrats
Friday, Oct. 13, 2000 | 9:49 a.m.
It shouldn't matter which candidate you would rather hang out with, because you are not going to hang out with either one of them.
The Republican Party is for big business and low taxes for the rich. The Democratic Party is for labor and working people.
Republicans believe that government should get off your back (except for a woman's right to choose). Democrats believe that government should stick its nose into everything.
Republicans believe that nothing should stand in the way of profits. Democrats believe that the environment and workers should be protected.
Republicans believe government should be smaller (as long as it doesn't eliminate their job). Democrats believe big government is needed.
