Webvan Group Inc. of Foster City, Calif., confirmed an earlier report issued by real estate broker CB Richard Ellis that the company has signed a lease for the construction of a 67,000-square-foot national customer service center in North Las Vegas that will employ about 900 people.

Ellis is the broker of the 280,000-square-foot Northport Business Center where Webvan, an Internet grocer, is leasing space for its new call center. The Northport center, owned by Jackson-Shaw/Northport LP, is near the North Las Vegas Airport.

Webvan offers online shopping with a courier service that delivers products into customers' homes within a 30-minute window of their choice.
