Alleged killer's name released

The name of a 47-year-old man, who Metro Police say shot his girlfriend and then himself last week, was released this morning as Vincent Sabino.

Sabino's body was found about two miles east of Interstate 15 north of Las Vegas in the desert next to his 50-year-old girlfriend, Gail L. Quillan, on Oct. 5 about 8:30 a.m.

Police say Sabino shot Quillan several times and then shot himself. Clark County coroner officials listed Sabino's death as a suicide.

Quillan's family reported her missing Oct. 1 and told police they feared for her safety as she was attempting to end her relationship with Sabino.

Arrest made in Las Vegas shooting

A Las Vegas man was booked into the Clark County jail Tuesday in connection with a man who died after being shot in a mobile home park last month.

David Lewis is accused of shooting William S. Roseland, 57, on Sept. 23 in a mobile home park in the 4300 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard. Roseland died at University Medical Center Sunday from the injuries, Metro Police said.

Lewis, the manager of the park, is accused of getting into an argument with Roseland and another man, getting a shotgun and shooting Roseland and shooting at the other man, police said.

Roseland's death was the 76th homicide so far this year in Metro's jurisdiction compared with 87 at the same time last year.

Shuttles will transport crowds

A free shuttle taking people to the Las Vegas International Air Show this weekend will stop at Sam Boyd Stadium and the Thomas & Mack Center.

The shuttle will begin picking people up at 2 p.m. Friday and at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. It will stop at the Sloan exit off of Interstate 15 south.

Guest parking will not be available at the Jean Sport Aviation Center during the air show, and the shuttle is being offered to help ease traffic congestion around the aviation center.

Las Vegas Boulevard South will be closed to the public from Lake Mead Drive to the aviation center.

Cops to query men in Las Vegas

STINNETT, Texas -- A Texas Ranger and a Moore County sheriff's deputy investigating the killing of a Lake Meredith bait shop operator were on their way Wednesday to Las Vegas to interview two West Texas men arrested on unrelated warrants.

Michael Noel Beams of Fritch and John Ashley Griffin of Stinnett were arrested about 4 a.m. in Las Vegas on Texas warrants alleging unauthorized use of a vehicle, according to Moore County Lt. Tom Shelton.

Shelton said the men were wanted in connection with the theft of a car, a home burglary and some forgeries in Hutchinson County.

Shelton said his department plans to question the men about the Oct. 2 slaying of Mary Kelsay, 61, who was found by an employee at the Ross's Roost bait shop. Kelsay had been shot once in the head.
