Henderson kinesiologist Amy Ashmore was awarded third place in the recent MET-Rx world's Best Personal Trainer contest for her work with light heavyweight boxer Dexter Sanchez. Sanchez, a Cuban refugee, lost his first three fights in the United States before hooking up with Ashmore.
Since then, he's 2-0-1. Ashmore designed a workout program for Sanchez that includes intensive boxing workouts, running, daily stretching sessions and weight training.
