David J. Banks

David J. Banks, 56, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 23, 1944, in San Diego. A resident for 15 years, he was a restaurant dishwasher.

He is survived by his mother, Aida M.; two brothers, Charles William Banks Jr. of North Miami Beach and Richard Franklin Gray of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and two sisters, Aida Banks-Bryan of Melbourne, Fla., and Diana Lynn Lerchen of Huntington Beach, Calif.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Richard H. Barnett Jr.

Richard H. Barnett Jr., 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born May 5, 1919, in Sacramento. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired insurance adjuster, a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; one sister, Phyllis Grechney of Washington state; and one brother, Rodney O. Barnett of California.

Yvonne Placida Benefield

Yvonne Placida Benefield, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Hawaii. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; three sons, Wilfred Alvarico and Alfred Alvarico, both of Las Vegas, and Benjamin Sugui Jr. of Hawaii; two daughters, Roxanne Ventura and Shandel Sugui, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Beatrice Alvarico of Los Angeles; eight sisters, Iris Hagan of Phoenix, Rusielyn Alvarico, Paulette Alvarico and Pauline Noyes, all of Los Angeles, Lavreen Leach of New Mexico, Patrica Labaya of Hawaii, Randolyn Marino of Texas and Diane Whipple of Denver; three brothers, Arnold Alvarico and Francis Alvarico, both of Hawaii and Frederick Alvarico of Los Angeles; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Angelo Bottazzi

Angelo Bottazzi, 79, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Leomister, Mass. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired retail owner and a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; two sons, Al Bottazzi and Eugene Bottazzi, both of Henderson; one brother, Joseph Bottazzi of New York; two sisters, Josephine Maiurro of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lena Guzzo of Bohemia, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Wesley Ernest Boyt, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born Dec. 10, 1915, in Missouri.

Ora Lee Bradley

Ora Lee Bradley, 76, of Las Vegas died Sept. 18 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Ecru, Miss. A resident for 3 1/2 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John Bradley of Las Vegas; one daughter, Diannia Piper of Silver Springs; several brothers and sisters, all from out of state; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carmen R. Figueroa, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born March 15, in 1913, in Mexico. A resident for three years, she was a retired produce packer and a member of the Salvation Army in Salinas, Calif.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Soria of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert Gallegos of Tucson and Michael Figueroa of Redwood City, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

E. Kathryn Haag, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Bowling Green, Ky. A resident for 40 years, she was a convenience store cashier.

She is survived by two sons, Rickey L. Haag and Scott A. Haag, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Tinnell of Indiana; and 12 grandchildren.

Adele Kalemba

Adele Kalemba, 80, of Newport Beach, Calif., died Tuesday in Newport Beach. A former Las Vegas resident for eight years, she was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Chicago.

She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Blake of Newport Beach, Jayne Kalemba-Szambelan of Janesville, Wis., and Anne Marie Frejek of Chicago; two sons, James Blake of Angleton, Texas, and Jerry Kalemba of Chicago; two sisters, Vicki Richwalski of Las Vegas and Gene Hupke of East Chicago, Ind.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be noon Saturday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Jimmie Lee Krausnick, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Cooper, Texas. A resident for 41 years, she was a casino cashier.

Pedro 'Pete' Larez

Pedro "Pete" Larez, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 26, 1934, in Colusa, Calif. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired auto body repair shop foreman.

He is survived by two sons, Peter Larez and Richard Larez, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Myrna Porras of Lubbock, Texas; one brother, Conrad Larez of Sacramento; one sister, Matilda of California; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

James Mango

James Mango, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 10, 1923, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired casino dealer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Linda McCarthy of West Berlin, N.J.

Costa Mitro, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born June 3, 1923, in Albania. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired hotel executive chef.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda; two daughters, Debbie Berthiaume and Christine Valez, both of North Carolina; one son, George Mitro of South Carolina; one stepson, Barry Mitro of Las Vegas; one brother, Nick Mitro of Canada; two sisters, Donna Dhama of Canada and Alexander Malisory of Southbridge, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

Barbara Mogensen, 92, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 12, 1907, in Chicago. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Bernadine Lasauskas of Las Vegas; two sons, Paul Mogensen of Clearwater, Fla., and Robert Mogensen of North Lake, Ill.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A.C. Owens, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Ardmore, Okla. A resident for 27 years, he was a carpenter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Sharon Kay Morris, and one son, Anthony C. Owens, both of Las Vegas.

Sherri J. Patterson, 36, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born July 25, 1964, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, she was a real estate saleswoman.
