Profit up for North Las Vegas hospital owner

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Tenet Healthcare Corp., owner of Lake Mead Hospital in North Las Vegas and the nation's second-largest hospital chain, reported a fiscal first quarter profit of $154 million or 48 cents a share vs. $128 million or 39 cents in the year-ago quarter.
Tenet beat analyst expectations of 45 cents per share as revenue increased slightly to $2.89 billion.
