Versie Lee Adkison

Versie Lee Adkison, 79, of Ozark, Mo., died Sunday in an Ozark nursing home. She was born July 8, 1921, in Darlington, Fla. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Albert "Jermone" Adkison of Las Vegas and James David of Alaska; two daughters, Jewell Jackson of Las Vegas and Nettie Ruth Dickey of Rogersville, Mo.; one sister, Willie V. Reddick of Nieceville, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be in Bunkers Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, Mo., is handling arrangements.

Alys H. Anderson

Alys H. Anderson, 96, of Rocklin, Calif., died Saturday in Roseville, Calif. She was born April 9, 1904, in Rockland, Idaho. A former Boulder City resident from 1944 until 1973, she was a Golden Girl of the PEO for 50 years.

She is survived by one son, H.P. Anderson of Rocklin; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in the LDS Fifth Street chapel, Boulder City. Graveside services will be in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Raymond Lloyd B. Blaine

Raymond Lloyd B. Blaine, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born July 14, 1935, in Canada. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired bartender.

He is survived by his wife, Carol J.B.; one son, Raymond Blaine of Las Vegas; his father, Michael, and one brother, Gerald, both of Canada; and one grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling private arrangements.

Dorotha Tot Carey

Dorotha Tot Carey, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 12, 1926, in North Carolina. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Marion; one son, Rodney Carey; one daughter, Patricia Nixon; two brothers, William Black and Kurk Black; two sisters, Margaret Duchell and Johnnie Stacey; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Mary Rose Carey

Mary Rose Carey of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born in Nova Scotia. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Estrella of Burbank, Calif.; one son, Paul Carey of Las Vegas; two sisters, Christine Mitchell of Boston and Anna Libby of Lynwood, Calif.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ralph Cicoria

Ralph Cicoria, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Massachusetts. A resident for nine months, he was a bartender and a veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Sandi D'Agostino of Methuen, Mass.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Methuen. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Patrick Doherty

Patrick Doherty, 83, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born May 11, 1917, in Seattle. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired city government building superintendent and was a camp host for 17 years for the U.S. Forest Service.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; three daughters, Jeanne Olson of Las Vegas, Frances Carey of Pahrump and Patricia Rowe of Monroe, Ore.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Beverly Gill

Beverly Gill, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 19, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio. A resident for more than 50 years, she was a hotel room clerk.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Wilson of Las Vegas and Dan Wilson of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; her mother, Carol Seabaugh, one brother, David Seabaugh, and one sister, Kim Comforte, all of Newport Richey, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Thursday at the family home. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Louis W. Leadbeter

Louis W. Leadbeter, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 25, 1937, in Uniontown, Pa. A resident for many years, he was an airline pilot.

He is survived by one brother, Roger Leadbeter of Marbleton, Ga.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Pennsylvania. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Thomas R. McKee

Thomas R. McKee, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A retired chef and Army veteran, he was born April 15, 1915, in North Carolina.

Private services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Florence D. Nietrzeba

Florence D. Nietrzeba, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Butler, Pa. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired cook.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Ralph Nietrzeba of Las Vegas; one brother, Dominick Savannah of Butler; and two grandchildren.

Donald L. Olesen

Donald L. Olesen, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 12, 1932, in Cambridge, Mass. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired computer systems analyst, a former employee of Metro Police Reserves and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Alison M.; one son, Brian R. Olesen of Denver; one daughter, Cara J. Sekerak of Minneapolis; three brothers, Darrel Olesen of Grantsburg, Wis., and Doug Olesen and Dennis Olesen, both of Minneapolis; one sister, Barbara Ganzer of Minneapolis; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Jimmy Orozco

Jimmy Orozco, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 13, 1931, in Gonzalez, Texas. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired waiter.

He is survived by his wife, Dora; two daughters, Leticia Orozco and Liza Humphries, and two sons, Jimmy Orozco Jr. and Roland Orozco, all of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Shirley Ann Porter

Shirley Ann Porter, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Illinois. A resident for three years, she was a bus driver and a Marine Corps veteran.

She is survived by three sons, Eldon Devening, Clifton Devening and Dean Leady; three daughters, Donna Brooks, Teri Martin and Dennise Leady; and 13 grandchildren.

Felicita M. Ramirez

Felicita M. Ramirez, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Mexico. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, Baltazar Mendoza Ramirez of Las Vegas, Salvador Mendoza Ramirez of Mexico and Eduardo Mendoza Ramirez and Jesus Mendoza Ramirez, both of California; one daughter, Antonia Mendoza Ramirez of Las Vegas; one brother, Enrizue Mendoza Galonia of Mexico; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Randy Rodriguez

Randy Rodriguez, 47, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 24, 1953, in Virginia. A resident for 15 years, she was a market checker.

She is survived by one daughter, Joannie Rodriguez; her mother, Katherine Baker; one brother, David John Party; and one sister, Lucille Catherine Gulledge.

Varina Jeanne Scott

Varina Jeanne Scott, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1922, in Ohio. A resident for nine years, she was a sales representative in the garment industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Cambruzzi and Barbara Storer; one brother, Leslie Foreman; one sister, Helen Garrison; and three grandchildren.

Leila Seeck

Leila Seeck, 73, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for five years, she was a bookkeeper for a trucking firm.

She is survived by her husband, John; two sons, John M. Seeck of Ohio and Jeff W. Seeck of Illinois; one sister, Lucille Manola of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-5 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson.

John Edward Slinzak

John Edward Slinzak, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 8, 1919, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired tax accountant, a retired Army major and a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.

He is survived by his wife, Enid; one son, John Philip Slinzak, and two daughters, Robbin Wilson and Sue Ann Burt, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Joseph Slenzak of Georgia; one sister, Josephine Kozich of Michigan; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Marie J. Smith

Marie J. Smith, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Kenosha County, Wis. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired government auditor.

She is survived by two daughters, Arlene Iftiger of Hesperia, Calif., and Betty Smith of Las Vegas; one sister, Harriett Davis of Las Vegas; one brother, Joseph Surra of Newport Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Thursday in The Lakes Lutheran Church, 8200 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow at noon Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Virginia Madaris Snyder

Virginia Madaris Snyder, 81, of Henderson died Sept. 20 in California. She was born July 15, 1919, in Alexandria, Va. A resident for 11 years, she was a beautician, owned a beauty salon and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her companion, Ross Yates of Henderson; three daughters, Kathryn Lowe and Barbara Warner, both of Marshall, Va., and Joyce Snyder of West Haven, Conn.; one son, John Snyder of Kissimmee, Fla.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service date is pending. Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, San Bernardino, Calif., is handling arrangements.

Ted Lee Todd

Ted Lee Todd, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Crook, Colo. A resident for seven years, he was a retired real estate appraiser in the banking industry, a Korean War Army National Guard veteran and was a member of the Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara F.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Mary C. Weedman

Mary C. Weedman, 94, of Atascadero, Calif., died Friday in a California care facility. A former Las Vegas resident, she was born April 26, 1906, in Rock Springs, Wyo.

She is survived by one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Heninger of Atascadero; and several step-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Chapel of the Roses, Atascadero, is handling arrangements.

Raymond E. Young

Raymond E. Young, 78, of Pahrump died Sunday in Las Vegas. A project manager and an Army veteran, he was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Santa Ana, Calif.

He is survived by two sons, John Young of Pahrump and Donald Young of Las Vegas; one daughter, Betty Ann of Roseburg, Ore.; one stepdaughter, Adele Csensick Bernard of Rixeyville, Va.; one sister, Barbara Skaggs of Lompoc, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Wanda H. Zimbelmann

Wanda H. Zimbelmann, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Clifford, Ky. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired towing company owner-operator, a member of Paradise Democratic Club, Women's Democratic Club and North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Clark County Democratic Committee and the State Democratic Central Committee.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford G.; one daughter, Janet S. Kazee, two sons, Anthony E. Kazee and Dwight D. Kazee, her mother, Violet Fletcher, and one sister, Rose Jones, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, David Hammond of Rush, Ky., and Tim Hammond of Huntington, W.Va.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
