Nellis Air Force Base explosive experts on Tuesday found an unexploded warhead that had been dropped by an A-10 aircraft about 17 miles north of the base.
The bomb was one of two dropped about 10 p.m. Monday after the aircraft experienced engine problems, Air Force officials said.
One of the bombs detonated upon hitting the ground in a remote, unpopulated area, but the second wasn't found until Tuesday afternoon.
Nellis officials detonated the bomb about 1 p.m. It started several small fires, which officials said will be allowed to burn out.
