Updated Oct. 4, 2000

LAKE MEAD: Striped bass fishing continues to be good in the Boulder Basin with anglers having little trouble catching fish that range from one to two pounds.

Boaters have been catching fish at Sand Island, Roadrunner Cove and from Pyramid Island to the Hemenway Wall. Shore anglers have had recent success at Boxcar Cove, the jetty at Lake Mead Marina and Hemenway Harbor.

Casting small Sassy Shad lures has been one of the better methods for catching stripers from shore as well as boats. Trolling deep with lures and whole anchovies has also been producing fish.

Channel catfish continue to be found in deep water coves and are hitting around sunrise and sunset.

LAKE MOHAVE: Fishing continues to be fairly good for striped bass in the Cottonwood Cove area with boaters finding fish along the Arizona side of Cottonwood Basin and just beyond the narrows above Cottonwood Cove. Most of the fish that have been caught during the past week weighed less than a pound.
