Warrant issued for sexual assault suspect

Judge Jack Schroeder issued the $50,000 cash-only warrant for Armando Jauregui, 26, who failed to appear for the hearing Wednesday.

Nine days earlier, he was released from the Washoe County Jail after posting $13,000 bail.

Jauregui, who's a transient, also is charged with one count of battery with a deadly weapon in connection with an Aug. 18 incident involving a woman he met at the Rincon Latino Nightclub in Reno.

He's accused of punching the woman with his fist and hitting her twice in the head with a large rock before raping her behind a building on Moana Lane.
