Thomas 'Chuck' Atchison

Thomas "Chuck" Atchison, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 11, 1925, in Fort Cobb, Okla. A resident for 40 years, he had been a bartender and a World War II and Korean War Air Force and Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mazie; two sons, Thomas D. Atchinson of Utah and Eddie Kelly of Pahrump; three daughters, Shirley R. Atchinson and Linda Atchinson, both of Utah, and Linda Bradshaw of Wyoming; three sisters, Wilma Barnes and Flo Ella Atchison, both of Oklahoma, and Joyce Blackman of California; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 12:30 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

James M. Berkoben

James M. Berkoben, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 5, 1938, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 20 years, he was a keno writer and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Teofista; one daughter, Janet Arteaga of Las Vegas; one brother, Harold Berkoben of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Sandy Roberts of Glendale, Ariz., and Ruth Sharenko of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; his stepmother, Edith Murphy of Glendale; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Jeanie Godfrey

Jeanie Godfrey, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired bingo agent.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; one daughter, Lori Piora of Orlando, Fla.; four sons, Patrick Ebell of Chicago and Christopher Lang, Michael Lang and Stephen Lang, all of Orlando; two sisters, Shirley Payne and Kay Baxley, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Phillip Erwin of Shady Cove, Ore.; and eight grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Clarence Glover

Clarence Glover, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Holdenville, Okla. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the federal government, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Operating Engineers union, Scottish Rite Bodies, Masons and Shriners.

He is survived by his wife, Rae; three daughters, Katherine Welsh, Wendy Glover and Dawn Glover, all of Las Vegas; four sons, Gary Glover of Apple Valley, Calif., Darrell Glover of Rialto, Calif., Jerrald Glover of Garfield, Ark., and Mark Glover of Las Vegas; one stepson, Stan Jones of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Faye Evans, and two half-brothers, Ronald Cherry and Wendell Cherry, all of Holdenville; 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jerome Vincent Gratton Sr.

Jerome Vincent Gratton Sr., 85, of Las Vegas died Sept. 24 in Las Vegas. He was born March 19, 1915, in Albert Lea, Minn. A resident for 31 years, he was a casino surveillance officer, a World War II Coast Guard veteran, founded numerous senior bowling leagues and was an avid bingo player.

He is survived by his wife, Virgin; two sons, Peter Gratton of Las Vegas and Jerome Gratton Jr. of Minnesota; one daughter, Jean Fickett of Cleveland, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Michael Lynn Patterson

Michael Lynn Patterson, 36, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 2, 1964, in Las Vegas. A resident for a total of 28 years, he was disabled and was a volunteer at the Blind Center.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Hal "Lynn" and Connie Patterson of Las Vegas; his mother and stepfather, Diana and Larry Wilson of East Peoria, Ill.; six sisters, Linda Oary and Jamie Pruett, both of Washington, Ill., Terri Frye of East Peoria, Angie Wilson of Las Vegas, Wendy Marc of Phoenix and Patricia Clemens of Nebraska; three brothers, George Patterson of Indianapolis, Larry Wilson Jr. of Hertford, N.C., and Ken Wilson of Las Vegas; one stepsister, Wendy Sell, and one stepbrother, Lyle Seigal, both of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Harold "Pat" Patterson of Las Vegas and Gene and Lois Gadberry of East Peoria.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. services Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the National Kidney Foundation of Nevada, 4100 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, NV 89121, or the National Federation of the Blind of Nevada.

Varina Jeanne Scott

Varina Jeanne Scott, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1922, in Ohio. A resident for nine years, she was a sales representative in the garment industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Cambruzzi and Barbara Storer; one brother, Leslie Foreman; one sister, Helen Garrison; and three grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Jeannette A. Thurston

Jeannette A. Thurston, 82, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 10, 1918, in Rossford, Ohio. A resident for 24 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Boulder City Kitchen Kutup Senior Band and a longtime senior volunteer in Boulder City.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond L. Sr.; two daughters, Sherry Meyers of Henderson and Joan West of Boulder City; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
