Unbeaten Lady Rebels hit the road
Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 | 11:50 a.m.
The UNLV women's basketball team begins a four-game road trip this weekend with a pair of games in the Roger L. White Invitational in Evanston, Ill.
The Lady Rebels (3-0) will meet Northeastern (1-1) in the opening round of the tournament Friday at 8 p.m. The championship and consolation games are scheduled for Saturday. Northwestern (2-1) and Penn (0-1) will play in Friday's other first-round game.
Junior forward Linda Frohlich, the Lady Rebels' leading scorer each of the past two seasons, will rejoin UNLV for the trip after missing the first three games while traveling with the German National Team.
In Frohlich's absence, the Lady Rebels were led in scoring by sophomore guard Constance Jinks, who averaged 14.3 points a game, and freshman center Petra Glaser, who averaged 12.3 points.
The Lady Rebels won't return to the Thomas & Mack until Dec. 19, when they host Cal State Northridge.
Tracie Chong, a senior at Iolani High School in Honolulu, will be a freshman at UNLV next August.
