The city of Las Vegas and the Red Cross are collecting "quality of life" items now through Friday to send to military personnel.
The items include Christmas trees, decorations and stocking stuffers, holiday and everyday cards; toiletry items such as shaving cream, razors, toothbrushes and tooth paste; videos and CDs; small board games; recent paperback books; writing paper, envelopes and pens.
In addition to these items, holiday catalogs are always in demand, allowing service members to order and ship gifts directly to their loved ones.
Items will be accepted at these locations:
Municipal Swimming Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road; Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St.; Stupak Community Center, 300 W. Boston Ave.; Mirabelli Community Center, 6200 Elton Ave.; West Leisure Services Center, 2050 Sapphire Stone; and Rafael Rivera Community Center, 2900 E. Stewart Ave. For more information, call 229-6720.
