A Clark County School District panel is planning to move 928 students from Molasky Middle School next year to the new Judge Myron E. Leavitt Middle School, one of several changes in school attendance zones the public will get a look at in January and February.
"This would leave Molasky with 1,201 students," said Sharon Dattoli, a capacity analyst with the Clark County School District's Demographics, Zoning and Realty Division.
The Attendance Zone Advisory Commission also is looking at changes to establish attendance at the William E. Snyder Elementary School being built at 1453 Colorado Ave.
A total of 649 students would be transferred from Long, Stanford and Wengert elementary schools to Snyder Elementary.
In other proposals related to Snyder:
On Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the board room of the education center, 2832 East Flamingo Road, the commission is expected to evaluate existing attendance zones for Lincoln and Herron elementary schools and Clyde, Cox, Lowman, Manch and Wooley elementary schools.
Also slated is a review of students living north of Charleston Boulevard who attend Palo Verde, Centennial, Las Vegas and Eldorado high schools.
All proposals approved by the commission will be presented at public meetings in January and February. Fliers listing the times, dates and locations of the meetings will be sent home with students in January.
