PetsMart planning Santa Claws visits
Santa Claws will be available at local PetsMart stores to take photos of pets and their owners 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and again Dec. 9 and 10.
The cost is $9.95, and $5 of each photo package benefits local animal welfare groups. Log onto petsmart.com or call (800) 4-PetsMart for more information.
Parade of Lights set for Saturday
The 24th annual Parade of Lights will start at 6 p.m. Saturday at Lake Mead Marina.
Sponsored by the Lake Mead Boat Owners Association with the National Park Service, Lake Mead Marina and Dry Dock Boat Sales, the parade will proceed along Boulder Beach to Hemenway Harbor before returning to the marina.
Up to 50 sail and power boats ranging in size from 16 to more than 50 feet may be seen in the parade, all lighted and decorated for the season.
Tea, auction, fashion show on Thursday
HELP of Southern Nevada will host a "Tea, Trends and Tranquility" party beginning with a spa auction at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bellagio.
Also included is traditional tea and fare, and a fashion presentation by Saks Fifth Avenue. Tickets are available for $100 each.

Charleston Blvd.; 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at LDS Paradise Stake, 3901 E. Viking Road; 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive; 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday at Deer Springs Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavillion Center Drive; and 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Western High School, 4601 W. Bonanza Road.

An FCC-approved Amateur Radio Exam will be given noon Saturday at Community College of Southern Nevada, 700 College Drive, Henderson. For more information, and pre-registration, call Tim Hunt at 872-5268.
Tea and fashion
A Holiday Tea and Fashion Show will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Rescue Mission, 480 W. Bonanza Road, to benefit the shelter's playground equipment project. Call 382-1766 for more information.
Pottery sale
The UNLV Ceramics Department in conjunction with the Nevada Clay Guild will present a holiday sale of ceramic art 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at UNLV's Moyer Student Union. Admission is free.
