Residents to host craft bazaar Friday
The residents of Sandy Valley will be having a craft bazaar 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. Saturday at the Sandy Valley Community Center, 650 W. Quartz Lane.
A donation to the fire department is requested for the breakfast. Proceeds from the craft bazaar will benefit the Golden Oldies Seniors of Sandy Valley.
Weather permitting, hot air balloons will lift off in the early morning and tethered hot air balloon rides will be available for a small fee later in the morning. Call 723-5040.
Light Up a Life ceremony scheduled
To celebrate the memory of friends and family members, Nathan Adelson Hospice will present its 13th annual Light Up a Life candle ceremony 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the hospice, 4141 Swenson St.
The free event is open to the public.
Nathan Adelson Hospice provides quality care and compassionate support for patients who have been diagnosed as having a terminal illness, with a life expectancy that can be measured in weeks or months. Call 733-0230.
Web shopping
Computer U Learning Centers will demonstrate shopping on the Web 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday at the MountainView Office of Senior Friends, 8524 Del Webb Blvd. Computer U demonstrations are presented in a lecture-like setting, giving an overview of the topic. Call 220-9495.
Grant writing

Millennium scholarships
A Millennium Scholarship program is being offered 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite 330. The talk will explain the scholarship, which offers all Nevada high school students who meet the residency requirements and maintain a B average a $10,000 scholarship to attend a public college or university in the state. Immunizations
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 15 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, Nov. 29 - Dec. 5:
DISTRICT HEALTH CENTER: 625 Shadow Lane, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
NORTH LAS VEGAS FAMILY HEALTH CENTER: 2225 Civic Center Drive, Suite 240C, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
GREEN VALLEY CLINIC: Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3:30 p.m. Friday.
CHEYENNE I-3 CLINIC: Centers for Healthy Families, 3266 Las Vegas Blvd. North, No. 12, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Friday.
CAMBRIDGE COMMUNITY OUTREACH CENTER CLINIC: 3827 S. Maryland Parkway, 9 a.m.-noon 1-3 p.m. Dec. 5.
RAINBOW LIBRARY: 3150 N. Buffalo Drive, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 5.
