Thomas Amic Sr.
Thomas Amic Sr., 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Chisholm, Minn. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired musician and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Terri Phillips of Redondo Beach, Calif.; two sons, Jerry Amic of Las Vegas and Thomas Amic Jr. of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Betty J. Amore
Betty J. Amore, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 19, 1927, in Danbury, Conn. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest; three sons, Doug and Gary, both of Las Vegas and Richard of Ridgefield, Conn.; one daughter, Minnie of Shelton, Conn.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Carmella Baldassaro
Carmella Baldassaro, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for 38 years, she was born April 7, 1926, in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, Dominic; two daughters, Diane Rice and Joanne Randazzo, and one son, Michael Baldassaro, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Mario Yarussi, and two sisters, Connie Lucantonio and Patricia Morreale, all of Niagara Falls; and one grandchild.

Ruth Beasley
Ruth Beasley, 67, of Las Vegas died Nov. 19 in a local hospital. She was born April 14, 1933, in Fort Adams, Miss. A resident for three years, she was a certified nursing assistant.
She is survived by nine children, Yorris Henry Gordon, Reynard Gordon, Rosemary Saulsberry, Lawrence Gordon, Ronald Gordon, Gregory Gordon, Michelle Beasley, Valerie Ndukwu and Debra Beasley; nine brothers and sisters, Lilian Woods, Jessie Mae Nelson, Viola Beauvias, Willamae Johnson, Adeline Scott, Ida Haynes, Cornelious Haynes, Collin Haynes and Nolan Haynes; 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Barbara Jean Beaudoin
Barbara Jean Beaudoin, 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 10, 1938, in Miami. A resident for 21 years, she was a retired nurse's aide and a member of Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her husband, Maurice; two sons, Edward Beaudoin of Arlington, Va., and Kyle Beaudoin of Las Vegas; two daughters, Rachel Beaudoin of Grand Forks, N.D., and Cathy Hogue of Las Vegas; and her father, Everett Toye of Las Vegas.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

James D. Benson
James D. Benson, 75, of Henderson died Thursday in an Illinois hospital. He was born June 23, 1925, in Fairbury, Neb. A resident for 10 years who earned his Ph.D. in marketing, he was dean of the College and Business at Northern Arizona University, dean and vice president of North Illinois University and director of graduate studies at University of Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Maran; two sons, David Benson of Anamosa, Iowa, and Stephen Benson of Oak Lawn, Ill.; two daughters, Barbara Gnatovich of Las Vegas and Mary Falvo of Sparta, N.J.; two brothers, Earl Benson of Onoka, Fla., and Douglas Benson of Alto, Ga.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Edith Matilda Clanfield
Edith Matilda Clanfield, 97, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born June 23, 1903, in Chicago. A resident for four years, she was a retired bookkeeper in the publishing industry.
She is survived by two nephews, Robert Lyford of Las Vegas and Robert Kent Clanfield of Chicago.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Chicago. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
William Wayne 'Tennessee' Connor
William Wayne "Tennessee" Connor, 40, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 20, 1960, in Grand Rapids, Mich. A resident for three years, he was a drywall hanger.
He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Connor, and one son, William Connor Jr., both of Michigan; his father, David Levi Connor of Nevada; his mother, Loretta Dixon of Texas; two brothers, Brian Kelly Connor of North Carolina and Jody Connor of Texas; and one sister, Colleen Kelly of North Carolina.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in North Carolina. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Caroline Davies, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local convalescent hospital. She was born July 25, 1921, in Quogue, N.Y. A resident for 60 years, she was a retired department store buyer.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Ross of Buena Park, Calif.; two brothers, Don Payne of Las Vegas and Phillip Payne of Lompoc, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ronald Lewis Day Sr., 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 25, 1948, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for 45 years, he was a driver for Silver State Disposal.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four sons, Ronald L. Day II, Eric R. Aimie, Kittrick Day and Cory McDuffey, and six daughters, Kristy Shelton, Krystal Day, Rhonda Foreman, Shelly Carter, Kisa Davis and Chasity Davis, all of Las Vegas; and 21 grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Church of the Lord Jesus, 1260 W. Bartlett Ave. Burial were private. Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Berta K. Firkus
Berta K. Firkus, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 28, 1928, in Germany. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Emil; one daughter, Katy Firkus of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Alonzo M. Hertel
Alonzo M. Hertel, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 20, 1917, in St. Joseph, Mo. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired Clark County School District custodian.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one son, Darrell Hertel of Devore, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, Luanne Matteucci, and three sisters, Valerie Houston, June Mills and Laura Wheeler, all of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Lucille Roahrig of Tucson, Ariz.

Robert W. Smith
Robert W. Smith, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born May 4, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for seven years, he was a retired structural steel draftsman and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Greg Smith of Las Vegas and Brian Smith of Houston; and one brother, Donald Smith of Houston.

Ruth E. Thompkins
Ruth E. Thompkins, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Missouri. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired hospital clerk, a member of TOPS and a volunteer at Deerfield Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by her husband, Morris; two daughters, Gail Kovacs and Toni Lutey, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Henrietta Miller of St. Louis; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Patricia Usher
Patricia Usher, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born July 27, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 30 years, she was a Clark County justice of the peace.
She is survived by one daughter, Laura Usher, and one son, Cliff Usher, both of Las Vegas; her parents, Mary and Roy Finkle, and two brothers, Billy Finkle and Rusty Finkle, all of Kansas City.
A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., handled arrangements.
