Hearing starts Tuesday for alleged murderer
Monday, Nov. 27, 2000 | 4:34 a.m.
Erin Rae Kuhn, 32, of Sacramento, Calif., who's charged with two counts of murder, awaits the hearing in Fernley Justice Court.
Investigators said she allegedly murdered her 17-year-old niece, Kathaleena Draper, in June after the teen changed her mind about letting Kuhn adopt her unborn baby.
They said Kuhn then surgically removed the baby, which later died.
Kuhn's family has retained lawyers Tod Young of Minden and Michael Roeser of Zephyr Cove to represent her.
If Kuhn is bound over for trial in district court, prosecutors then would decide whether to seek the death penalty against her.
